Salary Payments
Corporate entities can register in the Wage Protection System (WPS) to transfer salaries conveniently to their employees through Corporate Internet Banking.
Register in the Wage Protection System (WPS) to pay your employees' salaries by following easy steps.
WPS Registration:
- In order to facilitate WPS registration, corporate &government customers are required to fill the form and provide CR documents or membership card.
- The form must then be submitted to the nearest branch or at the dedicated salary reception desk at the Bank Muscat Head Office located at the ground floor. Note: The WPS registration form is a one-time requirement to be submitted 5 days before the salary file is presented for processing, along with all the required documents (as mentioned in the form)
- Once all documents are received, the employer will then be registered in the WPS system.
- Following the WPS registration, the old format will no longer be acceptable. Therefore, it is essential that all necessary arrangements are made before the company's scheduled salary payment date to avoid any delays.
- Salary Payments submitted at branches will be subject to the below processing charges.
- The salary transfer option can be completed in two simple steps:
- Upload by Initiator
- Approve by Authorizer

As of the 31st of July, 2023, the below file formats must be followed to avoid any rejections during file upload:
- The civil number on type 'C', must be numerical and should not start with zero.
- The CR number should not begin with zero and should not contain any characters.
- Two new payment types have been added "Late Salary Payment" and "Advance Salary Payment".
- The Existing payment type "Salary" shall be renamed to "Monthly Salary".
The below salary types must also be followed to ensure smooth processing:

If the payment is for a month older than the previous month. |
| Advance Salary Payment |
If the payment is for next month. |
